Io sono ISOLE, non ISOLA. 

Perchè sono nata e vivo su un'isola ma ho tutte le isole nel cuore.

Perchè il mio essere isolana, distaccata, mi rende al contempo aperta e accogliente.

Perchè amo la mia isola, la Sicilia, ma mi affascinano anche Salina, Stromboli, Malta e adoro l'Australia - la più grande isola del mondo!

Perchè scrivo di un'isola inventata, che raccoglie il meglio di tutte le isole del mondo e le trasforma in racconti e storie di vita.

Perchè mi piace guardare il mare dalla cima di una montagna, e immaginare tutte le isole... laggiù, oltre l'orizzonte, nella foschia lontana ... e toccarle con la fantasia.

I am ISLANDS, not just one ISLAND.

Because I was born and still live on an island, but all the islands are in my heart.

Because my island-ness, my being detached and isolated, makes me open and welcoming anyway.

Because I love my island, Sicily, but I'm also fascinated by the Aeolian Islands, by Malta, and I do adore Australia—the largest island in the world!

Because I write about an imaginary island, which gathers the best of all the islands in the world and transforms them into stories and tales of life.

Because I LOVE to look out at the sea from the top of a mountain, and imagine all the islands... down there, beyond the horizon, in the distant mist... and touch them with my imagination.
